BPI Asset Management and Trust Corp. (BPI AMTC) has appointed Sheila Marie Tan as president and CEO starting July 1.
Tan previously served as chief operating officer of the company. She succeeded Mario Miranda, who served the company for over three decades.
"Taking BPI AMTC forward today—where the markets are challenging and the investors want more—is certainly daunting,” Tan said in an emailed statement.
“But with an organization that has been built on a culture of excellence and innovation, we will make success happen,” she said.
Prior to her appointment, Tan served as head of Strategic Advisory for BPI Capital Corp. She also served as chief legal counsel of Ayala Land Inc., and co-managing director of the Ayala Group.
Tan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman where she also obtained a degree in Bachelor of Laws. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
